The psychologist
Agnes Csaba

My approach is warm, compassionate and accepting. I believe that every person has a unique story, and that creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change.
In our work together, I aim to help my clients better understand themselves, their emotions and their relationships, and to discover new ways of coping with the challenges they face.
I have worked with expats and international communities for more than 15 years, and I have lived abroad for extended periods in several countries. These experiences have given me a personal understanding of what it means to build a life in a different cultural environment — the opportunities and excitement, but also the uncertainty, loneliness, cultural adjustment and the challenge of finding a sense of belonging.
Whether you are going through a difficult period, trying to understand yourself better, or navigating a major life change, therapy can be a space to pause, reflect and find a way forward.
Working with children and parents
I lived abroad as a child in two different countries, so I have first-hand experience of what it means to be a foreigner. As an adult I have been working with foreign families for the past 15 years. As a mother of three, I know the joyful and challenging nature of parenting.
All children are best known by their parents, but there are situations where a professional can help. I love the honest, playful, creative world of children, and I especially enjoy working with adolescents — their critical thinking, resistance and rebellion. I always try to find the therapeutic tools that suit the child. When I work with children, I consider it essential to work with the parents as well, so that alongside the child’s recovery the parent–child relationship can become joyful again.
Professional path
I obtained my first diploma at the International Business School of Budapest in Business Management, then worked as a Relocation Specialist with families arriving from all over the world. I later obtained my diploma in Psychology — Child and Adolescent Clinical specialisation — at Károli Gáspár University. As a psychologist at the Pedagogical Advisory Service I provided counselling and expert examinations for children with behavioural, emotional and learning difficulties. I am a qualified Complex Integrative Child Therapist and currently training as a Schema Consultant. In the Yelon programme of the Hintalovon Children’s Rights Foundation I volunteered with children aged 10–18, and I completed the Foundation’s training in children’s rights and child protection. I carry out my work under professional supervision.
